This 4U Rackmount Tape Enclosure option offers a cost-effective solution for adding external tape drives to IBM eServer xSeries servers by allowing each of these tape drives to be independently attached to a supported xSeries server. Designed to increase tape drive rack density, it supports four full-high or six half-high drives, and these drives can be intermixed as needed. The drives mount directly to the enclosure option. This 4U tape enclosure can be shared between six servers, providing customer flexibility to meet growing backup storage requirements in a rack configuration. It can support six internal Ultra2 low-voltage differential (LVD) SCSI connections at up to 80MBps. This modular, high-density tape option is ideal for creating cost-effective tape backup solutions to satisfy moderate to high-capacity, data-storage requirements across multiple servers.
