New models of the IBM TotalStorage UltraScalable Tape Library 3584 provide enhanced tape drive technology and support in reduced footprint frames while helping to protect the investment of existing 3584 UltraScalable Tape library installations.

The IBM TotalStorage UltraScalable Tape Library 3584 is designed to be a highly scalable, automated tape library combining IBM automation technology for midrange to enterprise open systems environments. The new 3584 Model L52 and D52 Frames integrate IBM TotalStorage Linear Tape-Open (LTO) Ultrium Tape Drives, and the Model L22 and D22 Frames integrate the IBM TotalStorage Enterprise Tape Drive 3592 with 2-Gbps dual-ported switched fabric Fibre Channel attachment.
