All Scientific-Atlanta RF amplifiers use pads to attenuate excess signal and forward/reverse equalizers to correct station tilt. Pads are available in 0.5 dB increments for finer control of input and interstage signal levels.

Equalizer values are expressed in terms of cable attenuation in dB at the upper frequency. All forward equalizers are selected according to the upper frequency attenuation of the cable on the input side of the forward amplifier. Reverse equalizers are selected according to the upper frequency attenuation of the cable on the output side of the reverse amplifier.
