The IBM BladeCenter PCI Express Gen 2 Expansion Blade II provides the capability to attach select PCI Express cards on select blade servers. This is ideal for applications requiring a special telecommunications network interface or hardware acceleration using PCI Express cards. It provides one full height / full length and 1 full height / half length PCI Express slots. Each slot can support a single PCI Express card up to 75 watts with limited cases able to support higher wattage cards. In addition, this expansion blade can be stacked - up to 4 units on a single compute blade - offering a unique density advantage over competitor offerings.
