The HP USB Mini Magnetic Strip Reader is specifically designed for POS locations where space is at a premium. The entire unit is just 3.5 inches long - about the length of a credit card, giving it a very small footprint. It is a fully intelligent swipe reader that can be programmed to divide, rearrange, edit and validate fields of magnetic card data. It automatically distinguishes between AAMVA and CA DMV formats.
The HP USB Mini Magnetic Stripe Reader reads up to three tracks of information with a single swipe of a magnetic stripe card in any direction. The beeper and LED signal a successful read. It can be used as a freestanding unit or can be permanently mounted using the threaded inserts in the bottom of the reader via screws or Velcro, hook and loop fasteners. The HP USB Mini Magnetic Strip Reader is the perfect companion for the HP Point of Sale system rp5000.
