The unique design of the serial card and included break out cable feature a VHDCI (Very High Density Cable Interconnect) connector, enabling the addition of 8 serial interfaces while only using a single expansion slot. With the included full height bracket, this card can be easily installed in almost any computer case.

The 8-port serial adapter card is compatible with a broad range of operating systems, including Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista/Server 2008 R2/7, as well as Linux Kernel 2.4.x and up.
