The RSP4+ is an enhanced version of the RSP4 with larger default program memory (64 MB), Error Correction Code (ECC) memory protection, and compatibility with Cisco IOS software releases that support the current RSP4.

The RSP4+ supports the high system availability (HSA) feature, which allows two RSP4+s (or an RSP2 and an RSP4+) to be used in a Cisco 7507, Cisco 7505-MX, Cisco 7513, or Cisco 7513-MX router. The redundancy increases system availability during planned and unplanned network outages
